NEW IN VERSION 1.1

This version greatly improves AVI and DivX playback/conversion/editing/encoding. Also adds compatibility with the new video iPods and the DivX <-> iPod conversion.

Batch processing is now possible. A new menu "List" lets you open the Batch List, to make batch conversion, and also the Edit List, to look at the cuts you have made to the stream. More details later in this guide.
Some useful navigation buttons have been added in the player.
If you own a DreamBox, the new Enigma menu lets you connect to your DreamBox set-top box directly. For details, see the section "Using MPEG Streamclip with the DreamBox".

A new command "Open URL" can open movies directly from a web server. The Open URL command of the File menu, can now open and also download (or batch download) streams over the Internet, and it often recognizes and opens movies embedded in web pages. More details later in this guide.
Compatibility with the iPod has been improved, and more H.264 presets are now available in the MPEG-4 Exporter. New iPod presets have been added, to support 16:9 movies; the last preset can be used for cellphones as well. The two-pass encoding is now iPod-compatible.
MPEG Streamclip can now make DivX files with MP3 (MPEG Layer 3) audio, if 3ivx and Windows Media Player 10 or higher are installed in your PC.
The "Save as" command for AVI files has been significantly improved: it is faster, and can now handle B-frames properly. Other improvements in the AVI exporter include proper encoding of AVI files with BMP and JPEG video, "lower" dominance for 3ivx, and a special frame size called "720x576 DivX PAL" that appear in place of "720x576 DV-PAL", when the 3ivx codec is used.
An internal AVI importer and two internal AC3 and MP2 decoders have been added; this lets you play and convert AVI and DivX files with MP2, MP3 and AC3 sound.
An internal high-quality audio resampler (aka sample rate converter) has been added, for better sound quality.
Fixed many bugs, including: a bug in which the last few seconds of the audio track were not exported; a bug in which the video compressor used was sometimes different from the video compressor chosen; a bug in which the picture became darker/brighter when exporting with the same compressor; a bug in which the frame rate was not detected properly.
Added support for MPEG-1 video in transport streams and in VOB files.
In the exporter window, you can now rotate the picture by 90 and 180 degrees; you can make fast start QuickTime movies; an estimate of the final movie size appears when you enable "Limit Data Rate".
The "Fix Timecode Breaks" command has been further improved with a new option, so it will not skip frames in VOB files. Moreover it has been modified to minimize the amount of audio dropouts in VOB files.
Added a button "Open Anyway" in the open file error message; with this button you can try to open unrecognized file types.
The keyframe interval for export has been increased from 1 second to 5 seconds.
Added support for the 16:9 PAL format of the JVC Everio video camera.
Added support for the following file formats: DCM (Sony), TP, VID (Homecast), JPEG, TIFF.
In the frame exporter, you can now choose the picture format between JPEG, TIFF, PNG, and make adjustments to the picture.

Kurzanleitung zur Schnittfunktion von mpeg streamclip (Vers. 1.0.1)

von P. Burkes

Installieren

1.) Download auf http://www.squared5.com/ (Windows Version)
MPEG Streamclip entpacken (sofort lauffähig ohne registry-Eintragung)

http://www.slashcam.de/news/single/Apple-verbietet-QuickTime-Alternative-Player-6369.html http://www.pctipp.ch/news/software/36441/quicktime_alternative_wird_nicht_mehr_angeboten.html

Allerdings gibt es beim Hersteller ein Nachfolgeprogramm QT-Lite, das angeblich diesselben Zwecke erfüllt und noch schneller sein soll.  K-Lite bietet aber angeblich keine Möglichkeit, QuickTime-Filme im Browser abspielen zu lassen;

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;de;290301

Take the following steps:

  1. Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility.
  2. Run this utility. It will show you a list of programs. Find QuickTime and remove it.
  3. Open Windows Explorer and go to the folder c:\windows\system32
  4. Delete the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx
  5. Delete the folder C:\program files\quicktime

Now QuickTime has been removed.

Film schneiden:

I) File - OpenFile - mpeg-Datei wählen und laden

III) Schnitt::

USING BATCH PROCESSING
If you want to use batch processing, please open the batch list using the List menu. The batch list shows a queue of tasks that will be executed when you click the Go button.
If you have many files you want to convert, you can click the "Add Files" button. You will be asked to choose a task and a destination directory. You have the option to fix timecode breaks and join selected files. For export, you will also need to enter the export settings; if the files don't have the same frame size, rate, and aspect, you will be asked for export settings several times. PIDs for the conversion will be chosen automatically for each file.
Loading all files in the batch list may take time: you can stop the process with Esc, if necessary.
But there is another way to fill the batch list. In fact, while the batch list is open (even when hidden by other windows) every conversion you choose in the File menu will be added to the batch list instead of being performed immediately (so remember to close it when you want to do an immediate conversion). This includes Save As, Export to, Convert to, Demux to; and even Download and Upload from/to supported PVR devices. The source stream used is of course, the one shown in the player.
If you add tasks this way, all editing, trimming, In/Out points, and chosen PIDs, will be saved in the batch list; thus a batched conversion gives the same results as an immediate conversion. If you then make further changes to the source stream in the player, these changes do not affect editing, trimming, In/Out points, and PIDs stored in the batch list. And you can even close the stream and open another stream in the player if you want; all conversion data will remain in the batch list until you delete the task or quit the application.
You can start batch processing with the "Go" button. The button's name will change to "Stop", if you click it again, processing of further tasks will be stopped but the currently running task will continue till completion. To stop the running task and all subsequent tasks, you can use the "Stop" button in the progress window.
The initial status of a task is "Waiting". If you click the "Hold" button you can change the status to "Held" and then back to "Waiting". When a task is "Held" it will be skipped during batch processing, but it remains in the batch list.
Once executed, the status of a task changes to "Completed"; if unsuccessful, the status reports the error message. To execute the task again, you need to change the status back to "Waiting" by using the "Repeat" button.
You can change the processing order of tasks by selecting one task and using the "Up" and "Down" buttons. You can remove a task from the list using the "Delete" button, or all tasks using the "Clear" button.
You can change the destination folder of one or more tasks with the "Redirect" button.

Videostreams aus dem Internet öffnen / herunterladen

Zur neuen Funktion (Vers. 1.1) des Internetzugriffs
OPENING A STREAM OVER THE INTERNET
Choose "Open URL" from the File menu, enter the URL address of the stream, click "Open" and, if recognized, the stream will be opened in the player.

In some cases, you can also enter the URL address of a web page, and MPEG Streamclip will try to open the video stream that's embedded in that page.

There are two options in the "Open URL" window: "Open as streamed file", and "Open as remote file"; they determine the way in which the stream will be opened. You can use "Open as streamed file" (the default) or read the following information to find out which mode to use. Note that if you select "Open as streamed file" and it fails, MPEG Streamclip will also retry with "Open as remote file" before giving up.

The "Open as streamed file" opens the stream as a sequential file with the progressive download method. The connection is controlled by QuickTime; data are cached on disk. It works with several streaming and downloading protocols, not only HTTP, but it does not allow you to seek beyond the current downloading point, and it will not work with some file types. Moreover, MPEG files opened with "Open as streamed file" will convert without sound.

The "Open as remote file" opens the stream as a remote random-access file. The connection is controlled by MPEG Streamclip; data are cached in RAM. It works only for HTTP streams (beginning with "http:") and it allows you to seek without waiting. Good for AVI files; however in this mode the player may hang for several seconds when you play the stream and your connection is too slow.

WMV and FLV streams are not supported yet in MPEG Streamclip for Windows, so you cannot use "Open URL" to play these files.

DOWNLOADING A STREAM
Choose "Open URL" from the File menu, enter the URL address of the stream, click "Download…" and, if recognized, the stream will be downloaded to disk. If the batch list is open, the task will be added to the batch list, and you can start downloading the stream later.

In some cases, you can also enter the URL address of a web page, and MPEG Streamclip will try to download the video stream that's embedded in that page. At the time of this writing, this feature works with YouTube videos and Google videos, but there is no guarantee it will work in the future. Moreover, you cannot use MPEG Streamclip to play YouTube and Google videos because they are in FLV format, and this format is not yet supported.

The "Open as streamed file" and "Open as remote file" options also apply to download. Please choose the proper option, or use the default "Open as streamed file".
